NSW Perishable’s Manager

Join a leading ASX-listed global freight forwarder as a Perishables Manager in Chipping Norton, NSW. This is a pivotal role that combines strategic leadership with hands-on perishables management. You will oversee all aspects of the perishables operation, driving business development and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying new business opportunities and fostering strategic partnerships that enhance our competitive edge in the perishables market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and inspire a dedicated team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration within the perishables sector.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the perishables industry, both nationally and internationally, contributing to the company’s growth strategy.
• Ensure adherence to RACA, RMP, MPI, and other relevant regulations, including international compliance, to uphold the highest standards of operation.
• Coordinate Australian Quality Inspection Solutions (AQIS) inspections and fumigation as required, ensuring product integrity and compliance.
• Support the Head of Perishables with operational oversight, including performance reviews, training, and team development.
• Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients, overseas agents, airlines, and internal stakeholders, enhancing collaboration and trust.
• Meet and exceed department KPIs set by the National Perishables Manager, driving performance and accountability within the team.
• Liaise with clients and internal departments to arrange transport and cartage, prepare quotations, and negotiate rates effectively.
• Assist in all operational aspects, working closely with the team to achieve and exceed monthly targets.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment, addressing challenges proactively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Perishables Manager, ideally within a logistics or freight forwarding company.
• Extensive experience in perishables management, air freight, and sea freight logistics.
• Strong knowledge of perishable export operations and industry best practices.
• Demonstrated business development experience, with a track record of identifying and negotiating new opportunities.
• Comprehensive understanding of various transportation channels within the global freight industry.
• Proven ability to achieve and exceed KPIs and performance targets.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Effective stakeholder management skills.
