Senior Programmer / Planning Lead – Major Infrastructure Project

We’re currently partnering with a major infrastructure delivery team to appoint a Senior Programmer / Planning Lead to play a pivotal role on a flagship, large-scale project.

This is a high-impact position where you’ll take ownership of the Master Program, leading all aspects of programming and planning while working closely with commercial, delivery, and contractor teams.

The Opportunity Reporting into the Head of Commercial, you’ll be responsible for driving program performance across a complex, multi-stage infrastructure project. The role is commercially focused but requires strong integration across delivery teams, providing critical insight into time, risk, and project performance.

You’ll act as the key interface for all program-related matters, ensuring alignment between contractor delivery, commercial requirements, and broader project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the Master Schedule, ensuring it reflects progress, contractor inputs, and overall delivery requirements
  • Lead monthly program analysis and reporting, working closely with commercial and project teams
  • Review and assess contractor program submissions, including compliance, progress, logic, and resourcing
  • Undertake EOT, delay and variation analysis, supporting commercial decision-making and claims assessment
  • Monitor progress and productivity, benchmarking against forecasts and programme expectations
  • Provide scenario modelling and look-ahead planning, offering strategic insight into risks and opportunities
  • Support governance processes, including risk analysis, reporting, and program assurance

About You

  • 10+ years’ experience in planning / programming within major infrastructure or large-scale construction projects
  • Australian experience is essential 
  • Strong background in contract programme analysis within D&C environments
  • Proven capability across critical path analysis, delay assessment, and EOT claims
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 (or equivalent planning software)
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret and communicate program impacts
  • Ideally experienced in major earthworks or civil infrastructure projects
