Contract Administrator | Adelaide
We’re partnering with a well-established contractor in Adelaide that’s continuing to grow and is looking to add a Contract Administrator to its commercial team.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated CA who enjoys being close to the delivery side of projects while taking ownership of the commercial and contractual functions. Experience in structural steel or similar construction sectors is advantageous, but not essential.
Reporting to a highly supportive Commercial Manager, you’ll play an important role in ensuring the commercial success of projects, working across claims, variations, subcontract management, reporting, forecasting and contract administration.
The Role
- Managing monthly progress claims, payment tracking, and cashflow reporting
- Ensuring claims are certified and payments are received on time
- Preparing and administering variations, including cost build-ups and supporting documentation
- Assessing, negotiating and managing subcontractor and supplier claims
- Contract administration and subcontract management throughout the project lifecycle
- Procurement support, including tender reviews, pricing and preparation of subcontract agreements
- Assisting with cost reporting, forecasting, and commercial risk management
- Reviewing contract terms and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Attending project meetings and contributing to commercial discussions
- Working closely with project and commercial teams to drive positive outcomes across multiple projects
About You
- Previous experience as a Contract Administrator within construction, engineering, or infrastructure
- Strong understanding of contracts, variations, claims and commercial processes
- Comfortable negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve fair commercial outcomes
- Confident having commercial conversations and managing competing stakeholder interests
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work through contractual issues thoroughly
- An interest in financial reporting, forecasting and the commercial performance of projects
- Exposure to Tier 1 projects or clients would be highly regarded
- Experience using Cheops would be advantageous, but not essential
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Organised, detail-oriented, and commercially minded
- Relevant tertiary qualifications preferred
