We are working with a leader in local and global transport within Australia who are currently looking to expand their sales team in Sydney. As a Business Development Manager, you’ll focus on identifying and securing new business opportunities along Sydney’s transport lines. You will drive local growth, establish strong client relationships, and ensure financial success. This is a results-oriented position with significant potential for professional growth and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads and prospective clients for linehaul and global freight forwarding services.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies centred on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs and identify opportunities.
  • Create market maps of local clients, enhancing the local network through internal and external collaboration.
  • Arrange and lead business meetings with prospective clients.
  • Promote services by addressing client objectives and presenting tailored solutions.
  • Prepare and manage sales contracts, ensuring compliance with legal guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, revenue, and invoices.
  • Provide after-sales support and foster long-term relationships with clients.
  • Mentor and develop entry-level staff into skilled sales professionals.

We are looking for a sales professional with a proven track record in business development or sales, ideally within the transport or freight forwarding industry. 

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in Business Development, Sales, or a similar role (industry experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with the same-day courier market is beneficial
  • Prior experience in global freight forwarding or land transport.
  • Strong sales track record with demonstrated results.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and CRM tools like Salesforce.
  • Deep understanding of the market and land transport operations.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and time-management skills.
  • Highly driven, ambitious, and eager to engage in all aspects of the sales process.
