The Role
 
An established insurance building and property repairs business is looking for an experienced Insurance Building Estimator to join its Queensland team.
Based in Brisbane’s north, you will be responsible for attending sites and completing accurate scopes of work and estimates across residential and commercial insurance claims throughout North Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and Gympie.
 
The role will suit an estimator who understands the demands of insurance building, can manage a high volume of claims and is comfortable working within strict insurer and client KPIs.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Attend residential and commercial insurance claim sites
• Assess building damage resulting from storm, flood, hail, escape of liquid and other insured events
• Prepare detailed and accurate scopes of work
• Complete repair estimates from site inspections, photographs and desktop information
• Manage a high volume of insurance claims while maintaining accuracy and turnaround times
• Work within insurer and client-specific KPIs and service level requirements
• Identify variations, additional damage and potential scope changes
• Liaise with policyholders, insurers, supervisors, trades and internal teams
• Review technical information and supporting documentation
• Manage complex claims where required
• Maintain accurate notes, documentation and claim records
• Assist with CAT event workloads when required
• Experience Required
• Previous insurance building estimating or assessing experience
• Strong experience across storm, flood and hail claims
• Experience working on CAT events and managing high claim volumes
• Demonstrated ability to work within client-driven KPIs and SLAs
• Strong understanding of residential building repairs and construction methodology
• Ability to produce accurate scopes and cost estimates
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management and workload prioritisation
• Highly Regarded
• Experience using Prime
• Complex or large-loss claims experience
• Insurance assessing experience
• Building or trade qualifications
• Experience across both residential and commercial claims

About You
 
You will be organised, technically strong and comfortable managing multiple claims at different stages. You understand that insurance estimating requires both accuracy and speed and are able to balance customer service, insurer requirements and commercial outcomes.
 
You will ideally live in North Brisbane or within easy access of the northern Brisbane corridor, Sunshine Coast and Gympie.
