Production Manager

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee manufacturing operations of residential and commercial windows and doors. The primary focus of this role is to implement Lean Manufacturing methodologies, with an emphasis on reducing operational costs and improving efficiency across all aspects of manufacturing.

The Production Manager will be a visionary that can drive through change that will optimise systems and processes, and in-turn increase productivity. They will be responsible for leading a team of 15 permanent staff, including Factory Manager, Leading Hands, and General Operations staff. The business has a turnover of approximately $10 million and is in the early stages of adopting Lean processes.

Position Requirements:

• Lead the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency.
• Review current operations, identify areas for improvement, and create a clear plan to apply Lean strategies across the manufacturing process.
• Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives through Lean processes, tracking progress using KPIs within operations.
• Expand and optimise the use of Kanban (digital) processes to improve workflow and inventory control.
• Manage the production budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to meet cost-saving goals.
• Show a proven ability to deliver tangible results from previous Lean Manufacturing roles, with clear and measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational goals with the broader business strategy.

 
Candidate Requirements:

• Experience managing manufacturing operations, with a strong background in implementing Lean Manufacturing.
• A proven track record of reducing costs, improving efficiency, and delivering results through Lean initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with experience reviewing operations, developing Lean strategies, and executing them effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team while embedding Lean principles into all levels of production.
• Experience with digital Kanban systems or similar tools for production management.
• Proven ability to drive measurable improvements in efficiency, productivity, and cost reduction.
