The Company:
Our client is a well-established civil contractor with a strong track record delivering road infrastructure projects across Queensland. The Opportunity:
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering civil and structural scopes across major TMR road projects. You’ll be working on earthworks, drainage, pavements, piling, and other complex civil packages while collaborating with project teams to ensure successful delivery.
  
Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming & planning – developing and managing detailed construction programs, monitoring progress, and ensuring milestones are met.
  • Contracts & procurement – preparing and managing subcontractor packages, negotiating scope and pricing, and ensuring value for money in line with project budgets.
  • Cost control & forecasting – tracking project spend, preparing financial reports, and forecasting costs to support commercial decision-making.
  • Resource planning & allocation – coordinating labour, plant, and materials to maximise efficiency across site activities.
  • Site management & inspections – overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring quality standards are achieved, and supporting junior engineers and site teams.
  • Compliance with environmental, safety & quality systems – upholding the highest standards across HSEQ frameworks, driving a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible work environment.

  What You Need to Succeed:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • 3–6 years’ experience as a Site/Project Engineer on civil infrastructure projects
  • Background in earthworks, drainage, pavements, piling, or related scopes on complex challenging projects (ideally within QLD)
  • Ability to manage costs, contracts, and subcontractors
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive and driven approach to taking ownership of project scopes
