Senior Financial Accountant

Elevate your career as a Senior Financial Accountant, where you’ll play a pivotal role in financial assurance, reporting, and process optimisation within a high-performing finance team based in Sydney CBD. • Salary: Up to $145k + super per annum
• Work type: Full-time, 18 months contract (12m MTC + 6m extension)
• Hybrid: 2 days WFH, 3 days in-office

Requirements:

• CA/CPA qualified with 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience
• General insurance experience is essential, with a strong preference for workers’ compensation or other long-tail classes
• Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of tax legislation
• Familiarity with APRA standards and reporting (preferred)
• Background in Big-4 firm is advantageous.
• Experience in the insurance sector (advantageous)

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance requirements
• Lead the development and implementation of technical policies and control frameworks
• Identify key transactions requiring technical review and establish best-practice procedures
• Build and maintain productive stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development for finance team members
• Drive system and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy
• Support internal initiatives and manage change effectively
• Mentor and guide another permanent staff member to
